CHSA Points Adjustment

Today we made a points adjustment for Reserve Championships awarded on points within a division (hunters, jumpers, etc.). Unfortunately, through an administrative error, points calculation for Reserve Championships were reverted to the 2005 point counting system.  Prior to 2006 Reserve Championships were awarded 8 points.   In order to make our point system compatible with other association point systems, thus avoiding confusion, the rules were changed for the 2006 season, giving 6 points for Reserve Championships awarded on points accumulated.  Unfortunately, however, for the first few months of 2007, 8 points were awarded in error. 

This has been corrected, so some competitors may find a slight change in their final totals.  This does not affect any ridden or driven Reserve Championships.

Mystic Valley Hunt Club April 28th Dressage Show Canceled

Mystic Valley Hunt Club's Dressage show scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2007, has been canceled.  The next Dressage show is scheduled for June 15 - 17, 2007.  Please visit the Mystic Valley Hunt Club's web site for more information: www.mysticvalleyhuntclub.com.

Rules and Regulations

The CHSA Board of Directors met April 10, 2007 and approved the following rule change:

Page 46:
Open Hunt Seat Equitation 12-14 Fences.  Fences not to exceed 3' .  Change of direction, one combination including an oxer required.  Optional USEF tests 1-7.
The rule changes in bold print.  The rationale for this change is to keep this age section in concert with our Open Hunter Seat Under 15 Fences, as well as the requirements of NEHC, CHJA and ultimately USEF, whose test number 6 includes jumping up to 3' at trot or canter.

2007 CHSA Finals - Qualified Divisions

We are pleased to announce that as of Tuesday, April 10, 2007, the following CHSA Divisions have qualified for the 2007 CHSA Finals with having 10 riders/horses having more than 25 points:

1. Short Stirrup Hunter
2. Short Stirrup Equitation
3. Pre-Children's Hunter

Remember the Top 20 riders/horses who have 25 points or more will qualify and be invited to the 2007 CHSA Finals.
