After over forty years, Hal Vita Sr. founder of Shallowbrook Equestrian Center has formally announced that his daughter, accomplished rider and trainer, Sally and husband Geoff Allison will be taking over ownership, management and operations of the well-respected equestrian facility which was established in 1962.

Hal Vita Sr. states, “Sally represents the finest in not only the traditions of the Vita family and Shallowbrook, but epitomes the nation’s equestrian accomplishments by American horsewomen.”

Sally Allison, one of the youngest to qualify for the ASPCA Maclay Finals at Madison Square Garden at the age of twelve and once ranked fifth in the nation, started riding at the age of four and has taken students from their first lesson to state and national finals.  Sally and Geoff Allison are committed to providing superior instruction and boarding focusing on teaching beginner to nationally-ranked students not only the discipline of riding but the importance of horse care.

Building upon her father and mother’s vision of having quality and tradition in one place, Sally and Geoff along with brother Frank Vita and niece Stephanie Vita have already begun executing their vision for Shallowbrook by taking it to the next level with an impressive number of improvements, including newly renovated indoor rings, additional high-level instructors and adding lessons in dressage and hosting dressage shows.

Shallowbrook is embarking on an impressively busy month ahead.  Shallowbrook is home of two rated horse shows (November 16th (CHSA rated) and November 23rd).  As well as student horse show (November 9th) open to all Shallowbrook’s child and adult riders, including a very popular horseless horse show during intermission, where students who love pretending to be a horse will showcase their talents in flat or fence classes.  The public is welcome to watch these exciting competitions free of charge.  In addition, Shallowbrook will be hosting a Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 7th.  The admission-free event will include holiday-related activities and prizes for all ages, demonstrations on riding and horse care as well an opportunity to meet the staff and tour the updated facility.
