The following CHSA Rules Change was approved at the May 2017 CHSA Board of Directors Meeting and becomes effective as of June 1, 2017:
RULE II. DUTIES AND CONDUCT OF MEMBER SHOWS
A. MINIMUM STANDARDS
15. Provide a qualified, equipped medical person with no other assigned duties throughout all scheduled performances. These per sons must be certified or licensed as an EMT, Paramedic or currently licensed Physician or Nurse trained in pre-hospital trauma care.
15. All shows must provide a designated Safety Coordinator over the age of 21 with no other appointed duties who will be readily available to immediately respond to any injury, accident or emergency at the show. The Safety Coordinator will be the liaison to coordinate the response of any needed emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) or veterinary care. The Safety Coordinator shall have training in First Aide and be comfortable with and maintain calm professionalism when handling emergency situations.
